Description

For this project, I created it based on De Stijl artist, Piet Mondrian, and I applied a more modern approach to his artistry and style.

Challenge

Giving essence of the artist, Piet Mondrian, while also making the design unique to my style of design in a modern way.

Solution

Since Mondrian’s work often emphasized harmony, I decided to include a collage of celebrities who are part of the LGBTQ+ community on top of the pride flag to symbolize them coming together to support the community. I also made the design look like a street mural on a brick wall to make it more modern with the line, Pride = Harmony, looking like it was spray painted onto the wall. The brick wall also gives reference to one of Mondrian’s famous pieces, Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow.
